Project Overview
Daikin Connect Dealer Mobile App is an application that supports Daikin's network of dealers by providing them with essential tools and resources for managing their business operations effectively. As the sole UI Designer on this project, I led the redesign of the entire app using Figma. Collaborating with a team of three developers in Dubai, I aimed to improve the app's functionality and user experience for dealers.
The Problem
Before I came on board, the Daikin Connect Dealer Mobile App had several usability and design issues. The interface was cluttered, making it difficult for users to navigate and find the information they needed quickly. The design lacked consistency, leading to a confusing and fragmented user experience. Furthermore, the app was not fully optimized for various screen sizes, impacting accessibility and usability.
The Solution
To address these issues, I focused on creating a cohesive, intuitive design that would enhance the overall user experience for Daikin's dealers. My role included:
Design Systems and Components: I developed a comprehensive design system, including standardized components for each section of the app. This ensured consistency and ease of use throughout the application.
UI Redesign: I redesigned the user interface, simplifying the layout and streamlining navigation. This improved the app's usability and made it easier for dealers to access essential information.
Collaboration: I worked closely with the development team in Dubai to implement the new design and ensure seamless integration with the app's functionality.
User-Centered Approach: I conducted user research and testing to gather feedback from dealers, which informed design decisions and helped create an app tailored to their needs.
Major issues and challenges I faced included coordinating with an international development team in a different time zone and ensuring the design was implemented accurately. Additionally, aligning the design with Daikin's brand guidelines while maintaining a focus on user experience required careful balancing.
